KIDS CLEANING CADDY FEATURING CHARLIE
KIDS CLEANING CADDY FEATURING CHARLIE
Household chores are a key way for children of all ages to help build skills and teach them responsibility. At the same time it can take a little workload off the parents, and you can make it fun for them by turning it into a game to get them to tidy up their toys. Although, I’m sure it’s more fun for a 1 1/2-year-old toddler to use his for play and no work! You can incorporate fun ideas to motivate and inspire your children.
Put together their own individual kids cleaning caddy with colorful spray bottles. Add non-toxic cleaners to the bottles and let them join in on your cleaning day routine. Charlie is one of my bi-weekly clients, he’s always very intrigued by all the products in my caddy. He rules the house on cleaning day, so now he has his own caddy to carry and clean as he pleases.
You can find kids cleaning caddy here!
It’s very important to teach your children at a young age. Even a toddler can wipe down a coffee table and learn how to fold a washcloth. This teaches them the concept of work, as they get older this will help build confidence and prepare them to become more responsible as they grow into adulthood.

I love this idea!!!
Thank you, Ashley! I think this will help motivate your children to help out on cleaning day! 😉
I loved this article. My son ( almost 2) loves to clean. I have been having him pick up his toys (assisted by me) since about 10 months. Family and friends thought I was crazy but now he picks them up on his own and let me tell you it makes things a lot easier for me!
Hi Jessica, it certainly makes a difference when they are taught at a young age. It may sound crazy but they are never too young to learn this! Thank you for the feedback! 😉
Great post but it’s too late for me. My youngest is 12 and unfortunately as much with cleaning as I do!!
Thank you! 😉
Such a great way to get kids involved. Very Montessori in approach. My little one would love this!
Hi Lisa, thank you for the feedback. Kids love this idea, Charlie is a perfect example. You can come up with so many different ways to inspire your children and what works best for them! 😉
What cleaners do you give the kids? My 3yo would love this.
Hello, You can fill up a spray bottle and put a few drops of essential oils (lemon, lavender works great!) just don’t use on stone surfaces. I use Doterra Essential Oils. You can find this on the right sidebar on my blog. Also, Method Brand Pink Grapefruit All-Purpose Spray Cleaner. Here is the link. https://www.secretsfromacleaninglady.com/shop/ This is the shop link on the menu bar. This smells amazing and it’s a plant-based cleaner. 😉
Great ideas! They get so excited when they get to do something similar to what you are doing and it gives them a feeling of pride and accomplishment.
Hello, They sure do love getting involved. It also helps your children build skills and teaches them responsibility. You can incorporate different ideas to motivate and inspire them. 😉
This is so cute! My son has a toy vacuum and loves to “vacuum the house”. He’s starting to put his dishes in the sink when he’s done eating and he wipes down the table too. I love that he likes to help out. I just hope it sticks! haha
Hi Brittany, That is awesome! When they are taught at a young age, this really helps them to become more responsible as adults. They are never too young to learn how to clean and tidy up their toys. 😉
