HOW TO CLEAN WALLS & FLOORS
Walls & floors can get very grimy and dirty, especially when you have pets and little ones. The floors need a little TLC every couple of days. You can make up a fresh batch of this DIY easy to make recipe to clean your floors as you go. You can also use this recipe to spot clean your walls. It’s easier to use a flat head mop with a microfiber pad for hard to reach places.
CLEANING YOUR WALLS
Do you have a little one that has created a masterpiece on your walls with crayons? Use a damp cloth and add a little baking soda to the cloth to wipe clean. If that doesn’t do the trick, add a mixture of vinegar and dishwashing soap to the baking soda. Be sure to dry the wall completely with a microfiber cloth to prevent streaking.
For the permanent marker masterpiece, use 70 percent alcohol and a cotton ball and lightly wipe the area until the marker is no longer visible. If you have grease spots on your walls, take a white piece of chalk and scribble over the grease stain, then wipe clean with a dry microfiber cloth, go over it again with the recipe listed below.
(Always test on a small area on your wall to make sure this solution doesn’t remove any paint, some painted walls will leave a permanent wet look on your walls). So, it’s a good idea to test in an inconspicuous area before cleaning your walls with any solution.
SPRING CLEAN
You should thoroughly clean your walls once or twice a year, depending on how dirty your home gets. Spring is always a good time to clean after the winter months subsides, and you’re ready for that deep cleaning you never look forward to.
Note: For carpet care, always vacuum frequently to freshen and maintain your carpets for a clean and healthier home.
