FABRIC SOFTENER WITH VINEGAR & LAVENDER OIL
Fabric Softener with Vinegar & Lavender Oil
Remember back in the day when some of us hung our clothing on the clothesline to blow in the wind to dry, and it left such a nice fresh clean scent to our clothes. You could also save a little money by not using energy. Well, who has the time to do that any more? So, now most of us just buy commercial fabric softener to give our clothing a nice fresh scent. There is a better way to soften your clothing without the added chemicals. This is a simple homemade and cost-efficient recipe to replace your store-bought fabric softener and it is gentle to your skin.
- ½ cup white distilled vinegar
- 4 drops lavender essential oil
Directions:
Mix ½ cup of vinegar with 4 drops of lavender essential oil and add to the softener rinse cycle in place of your store-bought fabric softener. Vinegar will break down the laundry detergent more effectively. Don’t worry about your clothes smelling like vinegar, the smell will disappear when it dries.
This is natural and safe to use for the whole family and it is also helpful for those who have sensitive skin. The vinegar and essential oils will help remove static from your clothes. You can also use this recipe on the wool dryer balls, just insert into your washer and wash them with your clothing.
Happy Cleaning!

I love this idea! 6 years ago, we made the switch to essential oils. I couldn’t believe how many chemicals were in our everyday products! I love adding oils to just about everything throughout my day! Keep on promoting your great ideas! Blessings!
I use Doterra Oils everyday weather I’m diffusing it, using it topically, or cleaning with it. They are so refreshing to your home. Thank you! 😉
