DISINFECTING WIPES WITH LAVENDER & PATCHOULI
It is essential to use your own homemade disinfectant wipes. rather than buying store-bought commercial wipes that can be toxic to your home. When you buy commercial wipes, most of them are made of harsh chemicals so you don’t want to be using them on your children. Making your own recipes is safe, easy, and nontoxic, so let’s get started.
- 1 roll of paper towels cut in half ( It’s better to use the thick cloth-like paper towels).
- 2 cups of warm water (distilled or purified).
- 2 cups distilled white vinegar
- 6-8 drops lavender essential oil
- 5 drops patchouli essential oil
Lay paper towel on a cutting board or surface that is safe for cutting. Cut the paper towel roll lengthwise in half with a serrated knife and use only half the roll. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix together and then pour the mixture over the half roll of paper towel in a container large enough to hold the 1/2 cut towel upright and then cover with an airtight lid.
Turn the container upside down, letting the liquid absorb into the paper towel and let sit for 30 minutes. Pull the cardboard out from the center of the paper towel and toss in the trash, then pull the paper towel through the center and they are ready to use. You now have a clean, disinfected towel every time you use it. Just wipe, go, and toss in the trash.
I’m so looking forward to trying this! We use vinegar wipes for some tasks, but it will be great not to end up with lots of plastic containers they come in. Thanks!
Hi Beth, I love that it’s all natural, and I love the essential oils. I use them for my everyday tasks, like diffusing and cleaning with them, they smell wonderful!!
